Hypersonic simulation
 

Hello!

I am trying to do a hypersonic simulation (Mach = 20) for a cylinder falling to earth at aproximatly 80 km. I don't really know what the appropiate settings should be. How thick should the first layer from the boundary layer be? I calculated it and considering the low density, it give a result of aproximately 2e-3. That seems big. Also, I am curious if I should start with a smaller Mach number, converge that solution (let's say Mach = 6) and than switch to Mach 20. Any sugestions would be helpfull.
