Hello everybody,

I am trying to export data into ascii format to work with it. I export data with cell center values. however I find some strange behaviours:

when I explore the data there are information from more cells than the mesh size, i.e., if the mesh has 5000 cells I obtain around 10100 (slightly more than double) rows of data. I try to export the value of cell volume and if I sum every data I get higher value than the mesh volume!! (if I do the sum directly though Fluent I get the correct values).

Can somebody help me with this? I would really please

thanks!

Hello,

I have the same problem. Have you found the answer yet?
I know this is late but it would be nice if you could help me out.

Thanks

This happens a lot in 2D, maybe it also happens in 3D. It is outputting all the cell centered values and face values (or maybe only the face values, I forget).

If you want to export all the cell centered values in your domain then you should not select any regions in the export list. That means in TUI you should enter the empty () or in GUI, don't select any regions.

Thank you for the prompt reply! :]
I was trying to export a 3D interior region but it was consistently higher than the mesh number of elements at the region of interest.
That makes sense... I guess I didn't think about the face centered values.
I will certainly try what you suggested and see if that works.

Sincerely,
Dan
