Re: Force estimation in fluent

Consider a channel flow between plates and with velocity inlet(atmospheric pressure) and pressure outlet boundary condition (below atmospheric), simulation results in static pressure in the whole domain to be below atmospheric.

If we use force with direction vectors option, it indicates solid is exerting force on fluid which should not be the case as closed channelized flow.

If we consider a bluff body in this domain with some angle of attach then situation is worse, if we take surface integral or force resolution as per the direction vector it shows all sides are suction side, which is unrealistic.

I am trying to find out whether calculations are simply based on the static pressure sign conventions or what? I tried referring to reference values which is being used to normalize the pressure in pressure force estimation, but what value should be used is a big question under such a circumstances, at present I am using pressure 0 in the reference option.
