Default saving mesh from a case file

hi
i have a case file in ansys fluent 14. how can i save the mesh separately so that i can use it in other projects

As far as I know, there is no easy way to do this.

(In theory, you could open the case file in a text editor, find out how information is stored in there, find the relevant mesh information in there, and save it in a .msh file in the right format. Although I have never done this, it is possible, but you don't want to do this unless you have too much time.)

There is a workaround but it needs openFoam. Follow these steps:
  1. Save the fluent case in ascii form.
  2. Convert fluent case to openFoam with command fluentMeshToFoam.
  3. Use foamMeshToFluent command to convert mesh back to .msh form.
