Unhappy Velocity profile interpolation FLUENT

Hi,

I am trying to simulate a turbulent flow of a quarter straight pipe to obtain a fully developed flow and read this velocity profile to a half bent pipe in ANSYS FLUENT. I hope there is someone who can help me with this problem and I appreciate your time.

This is what I have done:
I have simulated a quarter pipe and then I have exported the velocity profile and read into a half pipe model. But the velocity profile doesn't seem to be interpolated. I get quite high velocities in all directions and I don't know what the problem is. Maybe the change of geometry have an influence, but then I don't know what to do about it.

The velocity profile that was exported from quarter pipe, was read as components in half pipe model as inlet x-velocity, y-velocity etc. I have also exported/read the kinetic turbulent energy and dissipation rate.

What do I do to get a proper velocity interpolation?

I just want to interpolate the velocity profile between the two models. I wrote wrong (not to obtain a full developed flow).

Make sure you have selected an interpolation method (constant, inverse distance, or least squares). I forget what the default is.

Interpolation is based on all x,y,z coordinates. This can cause problems if you try to map data at say y=0 plane in one simulation onto the y= 1m plane on the other simulation. Even if the x&z coordinates are the same, the interpolation will compute the distance r = sqrt(x^2+y^2+z^2) and the interpolation will look funny. You may want to delete the y-coordinates from the profile file manually to avoid this. Maybe this is your problem. Just a guess.

Thank you for your answer LuckyTran,

I have tried all three interpolation methods, but the result are the same. But how can I delete the y-coordinate from the profile file? I have also tried to only include the x-velocity but nothing interesting happens.
