Moving deforming zone

For an FSI problem I have a lamina which is deforming and oscillating. I could do it for thin lamina, though the mesh breaks but I could not execute it for a single step for finite thickness lamina.
I have another problem where I wanted to give motion to a oscillating deforming zone. How can I achieve deforming zone that is also oscillating. I tried with DEFINE_GRID_MOTION but if I give this udf motion to a zone it pops up the negative cell volume window. Thanks in advance. |
what kind of Moving-Deforming Mesh solver did you choose?
On Fluent 6.3 you had 3 possibilities,: smoothing / Remeshing /Layering |

I'm using remeshing and smoothing. I've also changed the parameters from the info as well. |
do you get error at first time step?

For thin lamina I get the error after sometime, after the cells get stretched or overlapped but form thick lamina I get the error at the first time step.
I think my second problem with deforming zone can be achieved if I can give deforming motion to a thick lamina, which I'm unable to do. For the 1st problem (with thin lamina) I've used triangle mesh for remeshing to work but I'm not sure why it's still not working. |

I've used the parameters from the scale info.
I also tried with giving DEFINE_GRID_MOTION to the lamina and DEFINE_CG_MOTION to the zone. But the problem I'm facing for this case is that if I give rigid body motion to the zone it doesn't deform. So again the distorted cell problem. |
It worked after changing the parameters.
I have a question about the capability of Fluent. Is it possible to give deforming motion to a thick body. I could do it for infinitely thin body but it's not working for thick body. |
I think you can do it with UDF, but don't know how exactly.
