Hi,
I am supposed to simulate heat transfer in a packed bed of fuel spheres. I use FLUENT 14.5. in literature, Heat transfer coefficient is about 20000, but in Fluent , Wall function heat trans coef , it is 300. I know, I should use the following formula to calculate HTC: h = heat_flux / (T(z) - Tbulk(z)) but there is a problem related to heat flux; I don't know how to find it in fluent. should I go the following path to find heat flux? report>fluxes>heat transfer rate> inlet-outlet Thank you |

I think you are right.But I'm not sure.I have some question about heat flux.

it will work for constant wall temp, and after you calculate heat flux you can obtain Nu simply by using following eq:
Nu= ( heat_flux/T-T_wall) *L/K_fluid |
