Hi guys:

I'm very confused about the boundary conditions and initial conditions in 'open-channel flow' and 'open channel wave boundary condition', within Ansys Fluent. When waves are generated, how can I get rid of the wind effects (because of a uniform velocity-inlet condition at the inlet of flume)?

At first, I prescribed a uniform velocity U at inlet (for both air and water) and used the standard initialization method (computing from inlet, 'flat' open-channel initialization method). But then I found serious wind effects.

Now, I've tried using a profile (a uniform U in water domain and 0 in air domain) and initialised the flume using patch function to separate the two velocities in two phases. But after using a profile at inlet, it shows severe wave dissipation along the flume and I still cannot obtain good results in velocity profiles.

Is there anyone who can help me please?
Many thanks.
