Coordinate systems and Boundary Profiles
Hi guys,
I've started to use FLUENT a couple of months ago and as I am trying to set up a model referring to a technical application. Due to it's accuracy of simulation it should include single phase flow (air) using 30 inlets, each inlet using a inlet-velocity profile. As described in the user's guide, I defined profile, using the format including x,y,z coordinates and velocity vectors. This worked out fine and when I got it right, reorientating the profile calculates the vectors, so they have the same orientation, referring to the new inlet, right? So what I don't get, but what would be really helpful is the use of the cylindrical and the local cylindrical coordinate system. What I know, is how a cylindrical coordinate system is defined, but defining a profile xyz-coordinates are asked for the points where I want to define velocities?!! Besides that, when defining a local cylindrical coord system, what is meant by orientation vectors in xyz-directions?! I would be extremely thankful for help on this case, as I've been struggeling with it for quite a while!  All the best, Christian |
