Hello,
Does anyone here have experience modeling conjugate heat transfer with Pointwise and Fluent? I am having some trouble getting Fluent to create shadow zones at my two-sided walls. I am trying to model an enclosed channel (2D). I have meshed the wall which I am interested in tracking the heat transfer through. When I export the .cas from Pointwise to Fluent instead of creating shadow BCs it creates "wall.1" BCs for my two sided walls and does not give me the "coupled" option under the thermal tab. Has anyone else experienced this? |

I've had that problem when Fluent, for whatever reason, doesn't recognize that there are two separate cell zones. If there is only 1 cell zone, Fluent treats that surface as a internal interface or a wall, etc. Make sure Fluent notices there is a separate solid zone and fluid zone. If you have a fluid-fluid interface or solid-solid interface, Fluent tends to generate a 1-sided wall and not a 2-sided wall.
