Hi all,

I am currently doing an ANSYS Fluent Simulation for a NACA 0012 Airfoil with an AOA of 10Deg. I have included a UDF to allow the airfoil to oscillate in the X-direction.

However, I think due to remeshing problems, I tend to get a negative volume error whenever I preview mesh motion.

I have set time step to be 0.01s and number of time steps to be 100.

Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

I have attached 2 images below for reference.

Thank you and have a nice day.

Hi Terry

I think you need to mesh it again. moreover i faced the same problem once, please go through the thread for your reference.

P.S- try to divide the area near the airfoil into blocks for grid generation.

cheers,
bharat
