Shaheer is on a distinguished road
I know there has been much thread on HTC in Fluent, however i couldnt gather much information on this issue i am having and well it seems the ones who started the old thread are not active much to get the notification for the reply. I have modeled a system for heating wood/straw particle with heated air/any kind of gas and modeled some steel balls around as well which has high temperature ergo will act as an active heater as well.
My work is to find the HTC.
There are 2 HTC and the surface HTC is the one I am familar with from my heat transfer studies, ie h=q''/(twall-tbulk).
In the simulation the particle do get heated up and we do see the air coming in (i am working on transient model)
However when i want to find the HTC which is the main aim of my work I am stuck. It shows 0 surface HTC if i try to view it on the solid contact zone of the particle being heated, 0 wall HTC for the same contact zone, 0 for fluid contact zone with the particle for SHTC but a decent variation of result over the fluid contact zone for WHTC.
When i try to obtain the wall Heat flux into or out of the particle i am not getting anything either for any of the contact zone.
Is there some problem with initialization ? (I do get some warning during it).
I tried steady simulation transient one and well i am not getting much to go on now since well the particle IS getting heated up there is no issue with that Why is it that Ansys is unable to calculate the Surface HTC?
Also can some one explain the Wall HTC in details as well is it parallel result to SHTC so that i can work with the wall one without any problem? I checked the formula of WHTC in manual and well its not what i am familiar with.
The first thumbnail is the SHTC, second is the wall HTC (of the fluid contact zone) and third is the wall heat flux.
