Mixing Tank 3D MRF case

5 Attachment(s)
Dear sir,
I am a PhD student & my research topic is scale up of aerobic fermenter. I am doing lab scale experimentation for fermentation kinetic study. Simultaneously I am learning the ansys fluent for CFD study. Scope of my PhD is work is to combine reaction/fermentation kinetic model with the CFD model to find out the optimum process parameter & scale up of bio-fermenter. I am new user of Ansys fluent. For initial tutorial purpose i wanted to study the mixing behaviour in single phase mixing tank. I have created geometry in designer modeller as shown in attachment. I have kept tank & rotor ( with impeller) as a two body part for geometry.
In problem set up i have considered transient case setup and Tank & rotor fluid as water.
In cell zone condition rotor is defined in frame motion with 15 rad/sec as shown in attachment. Outlet at top is defined as pressure outlet in boundary conditions. These are the only inputs i have given in cell zone & boundary condition. After run calculation i got the residual graphs as shown in attachment. I faced problem when i started the post processing. I am able to see the contours & streamline only for rotor region & tank region is empty as shown in attachment. I am not able to analyse what went wrong with solution as i am not bale to see contours in tank. I have follow the sliding mesh mixing tank tutorial steps ( from you tube) for this case (except cell zone where i have selected Frame zone motion). Also i am attaching the velocity magnitude results. I have attached some snapshot of my case with this thread & remaining snapshots will be uploaded in another thread. Please help me to understand, which parameter should i checked to analyse the mixing behaviour? How can i say that my case is run successfully? Is there any other literature available on mixing tank study? May be these are the silly questions but i am facing a lot difficulties in this. Please help me out as I am stuck on this for long time.
