These refer to the region of closely packed cells near solid boundaries.

They earn different names like inflation layers because in that region you generally transition from a small cell next to the wall to larger cells as your progress towards the core flow.

Prism layer is so-called because of the method of projecting the mesh faces from the core mesh onto the solid boundary, resulting in prism shaped cells.

There are various names but a general way to refer to them would be "near wall cells" or "cells next to walls."
