Question about solidification and melting model

In the Fluent solidification and melting model, Fluent uses an enthalpy-porosity technique, and the liquid fraction is defined as

my friends, my question is
1. What is the difference between solidus and liquidus temperature and melting point for a pure material?
2. I defined solidus and liquidus temperature both equal to the melting point in the material, and i expect the liquid fraction would be either 1 or 0. But the result showed that there is still a transition zone where the liquid fractions are between 0 to 1, why?
