Unsteady DPM / Steady Flow

Hello everyone ! :)

I'm trying to simulate ice particle going into a NACA scoop and I would like to see ice accretion zones.

I computed the steady Flow with a T-SST model and now I would like to use the unsteady DPM model within this steady flow.

Unfortunately, when I go to Results->Graphics And Animation-> Particle Tracks-> Track, nothing appears. I've got this in my log windows :

Fate Number Elapsed Time (s) Injection, Index
Min Max Avg Std Dev Min Max
---- ------ ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- -------------------- --------------------

Can you please describe to me the process to success in unsteady discrete particle modeling in a steady flow?

Thank you :)

Hi you did not inject any particle right since is ice accretion?

Check whether your particle escaped!

Well, you could specify some phase change such that particles are form on the wall? When move the particle can strip off the surface

Eulerian wall film model

Hi Jeelong !

Thank you for your answer.

I'm able to use the steady DPM to see where my particles are going to. But the thing is that I can observe just one shot.

I'm not sure about the eulerian fil model, may be I have to explain more my CFD project.

I'm trying to model discrete particle Ice flow wich are going into an airplane NACA scoop (which is under a wing) during descent phase at 15'000 ft. (see the pic)

http://s23.postimg.org/rhubpugcr/CFD.png

Airflow Speed is 240 m/s and angle between wing and airflow is 5°.
Altitude is 15'000 ft
ISA T° at this altitude is 255.65 °K.
ISA Pressure at this altitude is 571.6359hPa

Ice Particle in this situation are simplified to be spherical. I use 2 diameters (1 mm and 20 micrometers).

I computed the Stream flow without any interaction with particles with a Transitional - SST model.

I want to compute accretion during time and so to use the unsteady DPM tracking method to see the aglomeration of particles.

But when I use it and activate it via Results->Graphics And Animation-> Particle Tracks-> Track nothing appears.

Do you know how to use transient DPM with steady flow without simulate again the flow ?
