i am simulating flow over tube banks and i am wondering how to patch a velocity profile obtain from another simulation at the inlet of current simulation where you define the inlet as periodic boundary condition?

Which simulation is periodic? The previous one or the new one? I'm guessing the new one?
You cannot specify velocity profile at a periodic boundary condition, which would be redundant. You should just run the simulation with the periodic boundaries, you can initialize the simulation with the other velocity profile if you want but you cannot specify periodic boundary condition and velocity profile at the same time (at least not easily). You can trick it by using a bunch of interfaces, but there are only limited number of reasons for ever needing to do this. |
