Hi,

I have one question:

In Fluent, should be generated same mesh in rotational faces for creating periodic rotational conditions?

Is there a way that unmatched meshes are applied for creating periodic rotational conditions?

Thanks

As far as I am aware, you need a 100% match between the left and right hand side faces of your rotational domain. Essentially, FLUENT simply 'deletes' one of the sides, and treats the other one as being inbetween the 2 zones - which means the faces must match up with the cells they cover.

Best,
Cees

Thanks.

But according to the following text(Ansys Fluent manual):

35.9.1. Create/Edit Mesh Interfaces Dialog Box

Periodic Boundary Condition

allows you to create a non-conformal periodic boundary condition interface.

Non-conformal is unmached mesh?? What does your exact meaning of conformal mesh?

I am grateful that guide me more.

Hi,
Although I have no experience with that option, it seems to be possible indeed: http://aerojet.engr.ucdavis.edu/flue...ug/node194.htm
aside from this page, I cannot help you further, however.

Best,
Cees

Thank.

What is the exact meaning of non-conformal periodic boundary condition interface?

non-conformal=unmached mesh? right?

yes, for conformal the mesh on both sides needs to match exactly. for non-conformal, the faces do not need to match pefectly. So a tet-hex comination would be non-conformal.
