Does anyone know the physical heat covection process in CFD

Hi everyone,

Could you please tell me how is the physical process in the calculation of the convective heat transfer? expecially in the case that the wall is defined as a fixed temperature. How the heat flux is calculated?

It will be very appreciate if you can provide the relevant reference.

Thank you very much for your kind help.

Regards,
buidu

Anyone can tell me where I can find the reference? Thank you!!

In short, it's based on the discretization scheme. Diffusive fluxes are computed using central differencing, advective fluxes are whatever you have selected. The wall temperature specification doesn't necessarily change the way the fluxes are calculated (it does however affect the coefficients in the big system of equations that end up being solved, but assuming you have an arbitrary temperature field either from the initial condition or solved from an iteration loop, you would use that temperature to compute the fluxes).

See chapter 20 of the theory guide, especially 20.2 and 20.3
