Hi
I have been having an issue with Fluent outputting the drag on an airfoil. I am aware that Fluent is able to calculate and output the drag on the airfoil's surface but when I go to 'report' a single value appears on the screen. I am using an unsteady but periodic flow and would like to know the pressure force on the airfoil at each tilmestep. I tried to do this instead by monitoring the static pressure on the airfoil surface (monitors->integral->static pressure) which, as it is an integral, is outputted as Pa*m^2 which is the units of Newtons i.e. a force. However I can not be certain in what direction this force is acting i.e. it is not a drag force acting in the x-direction. Any ideas on how to measure the drag force on a surface at each timestep? All help is greatly appreciated, thank you! |
