Hello everyone,

So I am doing DES and LES simulations of a flame for soot modelling and I have doubts regarding obtaining the statistics of soot.

First we run the unsteady reacting flow for required number of flowthrough times. Then we turn on the statistics after selecting the species for which we have to do statistics.

But after turning on statistics also, under unsteady statistics contour, there are no options for soot.. I mean if I have to get the statistics of soot, what exactly has to be done?? Because the unsteady contour of soot volume fraction and all looks weird..

Also,
This might sound dumb.. But if we take the data only after doing statistics on the flow, then what is the purpose of saving case and data files after each flowtime while performing the unsteady run.
