Problem with cylinder geometry

Hi guys,

I'm sorry if this sounds like a really dumb question. I have to model convection flow inside a cylinder and the question i have is with regards to the geometry of the cylinder.

Do i have to design a cylinder that is hollow? Or can i simply just make a rectangular face and revolve it around to form a full cylinder?

I ask this because when i get to the "setup" portion of workbench it allows me to specify a material. And even with the full cylinder that i currently have i can get some of the answers i am looking for, like the velocity magnitude and the nusselt number.

Also if needed would anyone here be kind enough to teach this noob how to design a hollow cylinder?
