Hi All
I am trying to model a gas flow problem which can be broken down basically into a gas inlet into a chamber and a pipe leading out of the chamber to pump. Having looked around I see that there is a neat way to model vacuum systems by treating it as a thermal problem where the various system components have clear conversions from a vacuum problem to a heat problem. This workaround is used predominantly for the UHV (ultra high vacuum) regime in which molecular collisions are dominating the system. I am trying to model a system where flow is still dominating say 0.01bar to 10bar. I'm trying to find out if there is a way to set the outlet boundary of the condition (the pump) to match the characteristics of the pump's i.e. a pressure dependent pumping capacity (see curve). ![]() I've had convergence using an outlet vent and then setting a target mass flow to a fixed point taken from this curve, but I'd like to take the model to the next step and include the curve.
