How to model a rotating heat source in Ansys Fluent?
 

Hello, everyone. I'm working on a typical conjugate heat transfer problem.

The geometry is basically coaxial tubes. Cooling water (blue region) flows outside a solid region (brown region) that is heated somewhere around the center on the inner surface by a rotating heat source. The heat source is similar to laser and the component allowing the heat source to rotate is not included in my model. In other words, all the geometry in my model is static but the heat source is rotating.

I am planning to run the simulation using Ansys Fluent. I'm considering using sliding mesh or UDF. But if I understand correctly, applying sliding mesh in such a case will mean some parts of the geometry are actually moving, which might in turn affect the flow fields near the solid surface. Is that correct. As for UDF, I was wondering if there is any tutorial on this topic.
