Hi everyone. I got this error message while loading my mesh in fluent.
'The default algorithm used to compute the wall distance required by the turbulence models might produce wrong results in these cells. Please inspect the wall distance by displaying the contours of the 'Cell Wall Distance' at the boundaries. If you observe any irregularities we recommend the use of an alternative algorithm to correct the wall distance. Please select /solve/initialize/repair-wall-distance using the text user interface to switch to the alternative algorithm'. I didn't how to go about solving d problem. Help will be appreciated. Thanks |

This isn't a problem, it's a warning. This warning is usually displayed when high aspect ratio cells are detected.
High aspect ratio cells are sometimes intentional, like when you have prism layers near the wall, it's very easy to end up with high aspect ratio cells, which will then cause this warning to show up. Wide and flat cells that result in high aspect ratios are okay, but narrow and tall cells are not because the nearest wall may be an adjacent wall (a different wall than the intended wall) which will mess up the distance in the y+ calculation. If you know what you're doing with your mesh, then you can ignore the warning. There's no way to make it go away except to remove the high aspect ratio cells. I forget what the threshold is. |
