Hello all!!

I am trying to simulate a very simple flow in a helical coil with hot fluid and water spray as cold fluid. I am using ansys 16 student version and everytime I run calculation I face the problem of segmentation fault. Is this related to my mesh or the solution initialization. I have attached a link for the igs file which I have used. Can someone please guide me?

Are you using an UDF's that need user defined memory?

A segmentation fault usually occurs when you try to access a variable that is not defined or is not allocated. Sometimes this can be a product with your hardware/software setup. Usually it is caused by a UDF.

I resolved the problem. I had not selected reference for calculation before initialization. Now it runs perfectly.

For those who have not defined UDF (like in my case) and still get the divergence error, try to check the reference option before initializtion.
