Hello guys

Please help me with how to work on thin wall model in fluent.

I have created a fluid domain in gambit and exported the mesh file into fluent. There I want to assume there is noo conjugate heat transfer effect so I have just taken fluid domain (uniform microchannel) and want to give heat flux at the bottom wall. So I selected bottom wall and have given heat flux and also want to create small thickness of 5 microns wall thickness so there is an option of wall thickness in which I have provided 5 microns along with heat flux value.

My doubt is heat flux that I have will be below 5 micro thickness of the bottom wall or that wall thickness has nothing to do with it?? Please let me know if I am wrong and also correct me.

Thanks in advance and appreciate your help

The heat flux will be applied to the "bottom" but it doesn't matter, the heat flux is the same due to conservation of energy. It only matters if you enable shell conduction.

If you want to assume there is no conjugate heat transfer, then why are you using these options at all? Keep the wall thickness 0.
