I am looking for some literature on the MRF/Sliding mesh zone size requirements. I haven't found anything conclusive, has anyone come across some literature on this subject? Intuitively, I expect the smallest possible region to be the best option (e.g., a cylinder that just encapsulates the extremes of an impeller). But I haven't found supporting evidence.

Dear Wilandlane,

It's an old thread but interesting one. I am simulating a propeller and I would like to know how big should be the MRF region. I have now different results from different MRF regions and as the smaller it gets, the more non-physical solution I am getting. It would be great if you or anyone share their experience thank you.

Please go through the following article, where the author have faced the same problem.
