Hi everyone,
Is it straightforward to simulate "bridge pier Scour" in FLUENT 16? Is it possible to calculate "Scour Depth" using the multiphase flow model (sediment-water) in FLUENT? Thanks you in advance Zeinab |

I recommend you check the following reference simulation:
Bed Scour CFD‑DEM Simulation: A Fluent‑Rocky Analysis of Hydraulic Structure Safety https://cfdland.com/product/bed-scou...ucture-safety/ It shows: how to model water flow with Fluent, how to track sand/gravel particles using DEM, how bed deformation and scour depth evolve over time. If you want, I can also explain the differences between: pure multiphase modeling (Eulerian, VOF, mixture) sediment transport models (Menter et al.) CFD–DEM coupling or help you design a full simulation workflow for bridge pier scour. |
