Hi everyone !

I'm using ANSYS workbench R16.0. In fact I want to create a sided wall or shadow wall zone to separate between a solid and fluid region but it doesn't work!!
In the design modeler I have well defined a solid region and a fluid region with a wall between them and in the Mesh I have created the same continuous mesh in the two regions but despite this the fluent didn't create automatically the "Shadow Wall".

So I wonder if someone can help me and tell me the solution!

Thanks

So you don't have a wall and shadow-wall pair. But what do you have? Do you just have two walls or one wall?

A better solution is to figure out what you did wrong while generating the mesh.

But a easy workaround is to set both zones to fluid or both to solid in Fluent. Merge the two walls into a single wall, and then change one of the zones back to fluid/solid. Fluent will then create the wall shadow-wall pair.

Hi,

In design modeller, say you create 2 regions solid and liquid. In the tree, press CTRL and highlight them both, then right click and select form new part.

Now, when you start Fluent and click on boundary conditions, you should see the shadow walls.
mohamednasser and Taleb like this.

I'm not entirely sure how ICEM works. I use the ANSYS meshing tool itself. Works fine for me.

OK, I understand the ICEM part but now what is the issue with it?

After modelling, in your project tree below Geometry you should be able to see your meshing tool.

What analysis system are you using? CFX or Fluent?
