Pulsatile Blood Flow Inlet Velocity Profile
Hi All,
I wonder if someone could help me. I'm working on my MSc project. I'm trying to run simulations on an artery and as the blood flow is pulsatile, I need to input the velocity profile. I have got data points of the Time vs velocity. So I have used the transient profile and input it a Tabular-Transient-Profile. Then at inlet boundary conditions I have selected the velocity points that I input. When I run simulations to obtain results it gives me an error. Would you be able to tell me if I am doing something wrong? Please let me know if you require any more information. Your help is much appreciated. Regards |
Write your mail and I will send you my UDF for pulsatile inlet velocity. I think it will be useful for you

So is the only way to input this data is using a UDF? I have attached the graph from the actual person. Do I have to obtain an equation for this graph to input it into Fluent ? Thank you |
You can introduce the graph points in CFX, but Fluents only works with UDF´s for this type of BC, that I know.
I send you the UDF code to your mail. |

Can you tell me which error received when you read your transient profile? |

Pulsatile velocity inlet udf for blood flow transient simulation
Hi ,
I am working patient-specific blood flow simulation. I want to give Pulsatile Udf for my geometry using UDF in Ansys fluent. So i would like to know to define if anybody has please share it |

ansys fluent customization manual
look for DEFINE_PROFILE macro other option is to search through this forum |
