Water solid jet simulated by DPM particles !!!!

Hi there!
I've been simulating water jet (diameter of 2 mm) impinging upon flat wall (100centigrades). Firstly, I did it via VOF model and results are OK especially heat fluxes agreed well with measured data. Now I have switched the same case to DPM approach and I try to solve it with Lagrange particles (droplets). I know that I am breaking fluent limitation on an allowed volume fraction in a cell (10%), But I want to test it anyway. I have already succesfully modeled a cold flow without heat transfer. When I tried to simulate heat transfer with WallJet BC, I've got 70times lower values of HTC than I should have got. Than I tried also switched to Wall Film BC with solving species transport, but here I've got negative values of HTC instead of possitive ones. I've also written my own DPM-LAW for inert particles, but it has helped only a little. Any suggestions ??? Thanks in advance! Bohis |

Hi Bohis, Have you solved your problem? I cannot solve the heat transfer between a solid body (1000K) and water particles using DPM. It seems that particles are not cooling the body, it is only the air (continuous phase) that reduces temperature of the body. I am considering heat transfer meshing the solid and using Couple BC at the interface. Let me know your thoughts if you have successfully solved your problem. Thanks in advance! T |
