Hi all,
Im working on making a front wing for our FS team Ive selected the airfoil ill be using in the wings and decided to use the multi element airfoil with 3 being the number ill use since we need a Cl of 3 and above . Now you see that in multielement airfoils there is this gap between airfoils which when changed changes your Cl and obviously lift so i was thinking of a way this could be automated and Workbench does this itself ? I read a research paper on this and it said to use DoE (design of experiments) to do this and the best parameters get reported to you, is this the easiest method and can anyone shed light on how to use this please like Im confused what parameters to consider for DoE ?
PS. I have a fixed length for the wings and their height which i cant exceed so i have the region where the wings can go its just the length of the 3 airfoils and the gaps between them that i want to get whichever is the best combination . Also im currently just worrying about how to place the airfoils, the end plate and ground clearance ill do later so at the moment im doing this in 2D in free stream.
