Default Continous flow over the domain - boundary conditions

Hello everyone!

I have a simulation to make about flow over the domain. It is simple 2D rectangle domain with dimensions of 320x240 milimeters with 1 inlet and 1 outlet. I know what is the desired mass flow rate at the outlet and since it should be the continous flow it would be the same as the mass flow rate at the inlet.
When I am giving boundary conditions like this:
  • Inlet - mass flow inlet with mass flow Q_m=0,000273 kg/s
  • Outlet - pressure outlet with target mass flow of 0,000273 kg/s
I get very low values of velocity near the inlet (3*10e-2, when I have calculated the desired mean velocity should be around 7,1 m/s at the inlet with diameter 5 mm and given target mass flow).

Is this the right way to handle this problem? Maybe - since I know what velocity should be at the inlet it is better to define inlet as Velocity-inlet?


I know what mean gauge pressure should be inside of the domain (around 2000 Pa)
