Dear Sir,
My research area is to find out the force on a submerged object in ocean water by the using of Aqua CFD/Ansys Fluent. But for solving of this problem in CFD I am facing some problems. Problems are summarized below. Q1. How to generate ocean waves in ocean tank? Q2. Is there any program to generate the ocean wave? If so, then what is the program? I Know MATLAB, and I have a little bit idea on CFD. I would like to request you to help me for the solution of above problems. I also request you to give me a tutorial which helps me to learn more in this area. With worm regards Dr. Pradip Deb Roy Assistant Professor Department of Mechanical Engineering NIT Silchar-Silchar-788010 |

Check the Open Channel Wave Boundary Condition in fluent. It can generate waves.
Also, have a look at tutorial titled Heave and Pitch Simulation of Ship hull moving through head sea waves. It will give you idea about Fluent's capabilities of simulating such phenomena. |
