Hi guys
I am new here, and I do not know how FLUENT defines Nusselt number. Could anyone tell me how it defines? I have looked for the definition in the Help tab in FLUENT, but I didn't see any definition for Nusselt number yet. |

Fluent uses typical definitions.
The simple answer which is 99% correct is: Nu = h*Lref/kref h = q"/(Twall-Tref) Lref, kref, and Tref user specified values in the reference values pane. If you want to know the last 1%, you need to appreciate how the heck do you calculate q" which requires a certain level of knowledge of the FVM method. |
