determining velocity in developing region of a pipe
hello everybody...I'm having a serious problem with problem below...if anyone can answer as soon as possible I will be real thankful.I'm in a real need:confused::confused:
For laminar incompressible flow in the entrance to a pipe, as shown in the figure, the entrance flow in uniform, u=u0 , and the flow downstream in the fully developed region ( z > L ) is parabolic in profile as u=c((r0^2)-(r^2)) a) Calculate the maximum velocity um at the center of the pipe and sketch the velocity profile at a location 0 < z < L. b) Show that the pressure drop from the entrance to the beginning of the fully developed region is equal to 3/2*ro*(u0^2) (Hint: The flow outside the boundary layer can be assumed inviscid). |
