Lid Driven Cavity and Turbulent Flow

Hello,

I am currently doing an analysis of the classic lid driven cavity problem. I am doing this to validate some of my fluent work against known data.
I have successfully got the simulation working with lower RE numbers (up to around 5000) as i am just using the simple laminar flow method. However when i change to a turbulence model, currently trying k-epsilon, my results vary wildy.

I can match the images exactly for RE's of 1000, 2500 and 5000 to the image above, but when i change the RE to 7500, 10000 etc... using the k-epsilon model i get this.... (image shown for RE 7500)

I've tried refining the mesh further but this doesn't change the result.
Im not quite sure what i am doing wrong however i feel it must be something to do with the turbulence model as i have managed to match the laminar flow simulations OK.

Any assistance is much appreciated!

Hello,

Sorry to respond late but I encountered the same problem for Re=5000. I solved Re100, Re1000 problem with laminar flow model without trouble. But I try Re5000 with k-omega and here is the results:

Very weird indeed.
