Hi,
I'm doing some tests in Fluent for la latter larger project. I've put a simple cilinder whith a heat generation and an air flux around it to evacuate the heat. I've acomplished the simulation, and can see the temperature distribution of the air; but all the cilinder apears to be at the same temperature. I've look some tutorial in youtube and internet and the have the same result. So, i'm no expert, but i think that not all the body would be at the same temperature in real life. How does fluent treat this, and is there a way to have the heat distribution inside the body. Thanks in advance. |

Hi,
the question is: How high is the thermal conductivity of your solid body? If the body consists of Aluminium, Copper or so, the temperature distribution will be almost even. In this case, heat conduction within the solid is much stronger than the convective heat transfer on the surface. |

You are right a matter of scale, i changed the conductivity to make the difference more obvious.
Thank you. |
