Hello, I have a simulation already done in fluent, I have de .Dat file of the results of the simulation, however this file shows me the velocity only in the nodes. I really want to have the value of the velocity in every point, not only in the nodes, and export this file as an ASCII file. Do anyone know a way to do this in fluent, cfd-post or tecplot? Thank you

I define the location of the coordinates, the idea is to obtain the Information in many points that I define, not only the one given in the nodes. This implies that it should be an automatic procedure because there are a lot of points.

you just create points at the locations and then u can easily use the CFD table viewer to get velocity at all those points.

Thank you that is what I need. However I have 2 questions, I already create the point, but I donīt know how to put the value of the velocity of that point in the table.

Do you know a way to generate this points in an automated way?, I mean I need to generate points in all the mesh, that is like 4 Millions of points, so I canīt do it by hand.

In Fluent: File->Export->Solution Data
Select ASCII, the things you want and the settings you want.

The problem of doing that, is that it only exports the values in the nodes and I want it in other points that I define

If your strategy to solve your problem involves the step of defining 4 million points and extracting information on those 4 million points instead of using the known information on the nodes, you probably have a inefficient strategy.

You can do this. Basic steps: find out how to use the Text User Interface to define these points, and use a scheme script to do this for all points that you need.

But you can probably spend your time better by re-thinking the method that you are using.
