sofc with Unresolved electrolyte
Dear friends:
******* I am using fluent (sofc with unresolved electrolyte) to simulate sofc, after I get the results, the Nernst potential is shown as 0, in fact should not be so, I hope someone can tell me the reason and give some suggestions for improvement, sincerely thank u! |
hi. i am modeling sofc with resolved electrolyte. (fuel cell and electrolysis addon module number 3 in fluent 15.0) in this model u should account anode and cathode diffiusion layer and TPBs also. and electrolyte as computational domain. as i know in unresolved modeling u dont make zones like tpb and electrolyte? am i right? how is ur geometry and mesh? i mean u have just anod and cathod? no electrolyte and just a wall interface beetween anod and cathode?

Yes! They are modeled as a pair of wall and wall-shadow faces, named “electrolyte interfaces."

Hi everyone,
I am also using SOFC with unresolved electrolyte model but I did not quite understand how to select anode and cathode electrolyte interfaces. My questions are; 1. Which material state did you choose for anode and cathode electrodes, solid or fluid with porous medium? 2. How do you identify the electrolyte surfaces while meshing? I use ICEM CFD for meshing. Because when I try choosing anode and cathode electrolyte surfaces under Electrolyte and Turtousity, I cannot decide which surface is for those interfaces. Thanks for your help. |
