6 dof settings for VAWT

Question 6 dof settings for VAWT

Greetings everyone!
While working on VAWT 2D simulation, I want to see the effect of wind velocity on blades for which 6 dof solver is needed. However I am not able to decide what settings to use. I'll list a few settings that I have tried:

1. I have created named selection for the fixed domain (rectangular) and rotating domain (circular, slightly larger than the rotor diameter, this domain has three airfoils/blades which are to be studied/rotated by wind velocity)

2. I have created mesh interface at the edge of the above mentioned domains (in fact I have been able to successfully complete sliding mesh solution, using sliding mesh technique)

I am new to UDF's and 6dof solver so am at a complete loss as how to proceed further. In 6 dof solver settings:

1. Should I make the above mentioned rotating domain as "deforming"?

2. Should I set the airfoils/blades as "rigid body"? If yes what would be the UDF (as its compulsary to hook UDF in rigid body option)? I doubt this because from the few macros I am aware of, all are used if a predetermined motion is to be given to the body, like sinusoidal. But in my case, I merely want it to be free to rotate about z axis, no other motion to be allowed.

3. Should I tick "implicit update" option?

4. How many (and which/where) "dynamic mesh zones" should I create?
