Hi All,

As users of the DPM model probably know, the discrete random walk model does not give proper particle trajectories (especially for massless tracers) in wall-bound flows. So far I always chose to ignore this, but in my latest work this feature of DRW has become quite problematic (and since I'm working transient, cloud tracking or so is not an option)

So, I want to alter my model to either anisotropic DRW following Reeks, or Continuous Random Walk such as Dehbi models. But, there is no simple UDF hook for particle velocity. So here are a few questions:

1) What is the best way to hook a UDF to modify a particle velocity (and how can this best be modified?)
2) Does anyone have a UDF on the shelve that he/she'd be willing to share - this would make life even easier
3) Does anyone have experience with application of other particle-turbulence models, and if so, do you have recommendations in this field (which model is best to use - I'm simulating turbulent stirred tanks)

Thanks in advance and best regards,
Cees

Hi Cees,

Did you have any luck implementing another DRW model via UDF?

Does anyone else know the best way to do this?

If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be really helpful!

Cheers,
Alan
