Default Periodic Repeats Interface not showing consistent coupling

Hey Guys,
I set up a rotor/stator problem with translating sliding mesh motion. The rotor and stator region have periodic boundaries on their top and bottom sides respectively. The interface region is set up with the periodic repeats option. Though the solution is converging, it shows that the coupling of the periodic repeats interface is not consistent. I have translated the interface region geometry to show what is going on. The not-overlapping region of the interface is not consistent with the following stator part of the mesh (see picture).
Anybody knows if there is something I could have overlooked?

Cheers
Alex

please send a picture of the mesh in that same area.

This is the mesh in the exact area. As the simulation works with different codes, it was my thought that the periodic repeats interface may not work as I want it to.

Cheers

Mesh size is quite different in the problematic area. Try adapting the larger cells near the interface.
