Hello everyone,

I'm trying to simulate temperature rise when a pulsed beam strikes a surface of beam dump. The cooling channels are cut spiral inside the beam dump through which water is flowing so as to control the temperature rise.

I've defined transient tabular profile as described in fluent manual. The beam strikes for 0.5 milliseconds and then for 40 milliseconds it's off, then strikes for 0.5 milliseconds and then it's off for 40 milliseconds. This pattern continues till 1 second.

Since for beam's on period the time interval that I've taken is 0.00001 second, so under run calculation tab in fluent I took time step size as 0.00001 second and number of time steps as 100000 so that the flow time comes out to be 1 second but I'm not getting accurate results.

I want to ask what I'm doing wrong over here? I suspect may be i'm messing up the calculation settings. Please help me. It's urgent.

Thanks in advance.
