How to cancel spurious velocities in VOF
 

I'm simulating impact of a droplet onto a moving solid particle in mid-air (axisymmetric VOF). The general impact outcome that I get is similar to my experimental results, however, the lamella length and thickness are different (see the Figure). I've heard that might be due to "spurious velocities" in VOF which should be removed. Could you please guide me how should I write the UDF?
