Hi,

I'm Darma. I'm new to this forum and also to this Program. I am still learning ANSYS Fluent by myself with help from Youtube. I'm currently working on a project about hydrodynamic fluid coupling. I have already made the boolean from my model. I want to give a torque as my input, but I only saw a constant rotational velocity as my input in Mesh Motion. Someone told me to try Frame Motion or UDF. I have really no clue about those two. Can you guys explain to me about those and what is the different with Frame Motion and Mesh Motion? Or Do you guys have some link or website, where I could get the tutorial about that?

And is it possible to have the transmitted Torque as the result from this simulation, because until now, I have seen only pressure, density, and velocity as my option for the result.

Thanks before.

Best Regards,
Darma

Hi,

So has anyone here made a model and simulation of fluid coupling with Fluent? I'm trying to use constant rotational velocity and I figured that I also have to input the rotational velocity of the turbine blade. In Fluent the fluid flow, which is caused by the rotation of the pump blade, apparently can't make the turbine blade rotate.

So my question is: Has anyone here had a similar experience? And how did you guys/ make this simulation works?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Darma
