Question Display Error after Scaling Mesh

Hi all,

I accidentally created my surface mesh in ANSA with millimeter (mm) as the length unit instead of meter (m). I already created the volume mesh in TGrid without noticing, and even ran my simulation.

Now I want to fix that mistake and used the 'scale mesh' function in Fluent (under 'general'->'mesh'->'scale'). Unfortunately, now the mesh is not displayed correctly, but seems to be twisted. However, when I compute the area of particular faces or the volume of particular cell zones, the correct value in the correct unit (m2 for area, m3 for volume) is computed. Running the simulation also works without any error message, the solution converges. But also in the post-processing, the display of the model is twisted in the same way as in the mesh.

The fact that everything else works fine leads me to the conclusion, that it is just a display error. Does anyone have an idea what could cause this error, and more importantly how to fix it?

Thanks,
Gerrit

Hi Gerrit.

Do you have just surface mesh in ANSA?
Is it geometry macros or FE-mod mesh?
What do you mean by twisted? Can you post an image?
Have you tried volume meshing in ANSA?

cheers

Hi Vangelis,
Thanks for your reply.

Apparently it was only a display error. Restarting the computer solved the problem. Too easy, didn't considder doing that. Sorry
