Hello everybody, greetings from Brazil. I hope you can help me.
I'm new to CFD, I did some simple cases in university but now I'm studying a project more complicated.

The case is: we need to put a can of beer to rotate inside a tube through a cold water flow, so we want to measure the temperature variation that occurs with the beer rotating emerged in flow. Thus, we have convecction inside the can and outside too.

Here is a diagram: https://imgur.com/a/cOA5Y

I've tried many ways to simulate this case and spent a lot of time, but still failure. I don't know how I can input the rotation correctly in Fluent, every attempt has fail.

Some suggestion?

You should give more description here. Directly determine the problems you had faced.

Once you have two fluid zones with different properties you should use heat exchanger model.

Best regards

Hi, thank you very much for your help, I appreciate that. I don't have much knowledge in Fluent because I'm starting my studies in this area just now, but thanks for your tip, I'll search about the heat exchanger model.

So, due to the fact that the wall of the can is thin and made of aluminum I think I can neglect its influence on heat transfer.

Thus, in geometry I just do a body that is the beer, and an enclosure that is the water volume.

In Mesh, I just nominate the inlet and the outlet and I do the contact regions.

So, already in Fluent, I select transient time and the viscous model is the k-epsilon.

Add materials.

In the cell zone conditions I put the rpm in Mesh motion and the axis of rotation to the beer.

So, in the boundaries conditions I just configured the inlet and outlet. (I don't know if I have to configure the walls as the moving walls because I already put rotation in cell zones earlier.)

And in mesh interfaces, I put the interface as "coupled wall" because I read this in ansys help: "Enable Coupled Wall if you would like to model a thermally coupled wall between two fluid zones that share a non-conformal interface."

Finally look how the streamlines are: https://imgur.com/a/hgzQH

It appears that the fluid don't recognize the rotation of the beer, but I put a Mesh motion to the beer body.

any suggestion?
