I am trying to model a two phase flow of saturated liquid through a vertical pipe with constant heat flux at the wall.

I have modeled it as a 2d axisymmetric problem. I first did a single phase turbulent model and then exported the outlet profile and used that profile as the inlet boundary conditions. I was basing my work off this tutorial here:
https://www.researchgate.net/file.Po...01466537647654

However, my solution is diverging after 4 or 5 iterations. I am not sure how to make this work.

my workbench files are available here if anyone can take a look (I was using workbkench version 18.2):

I have a few different models there, the one I am most interested in getting to work is the saturated 2 phase one.

I have been stuck here for a long time and nothing I do seems to help.

Problem statement:
A vertical steel tube carries water at a pressure of 10 bars. Saturated liquid water is pumped into the D= 0.1 m diameter tube at its bottom end mean velocity of 0.05 m/s.
The tube is exposed to combusting pulverized coal, providing a uniform heat flux of 100,000 W/m2. Length of the tube is 30 m

Hey.

I am interested to help in the problem on vertical pipe flow. I have a lot of question as to how you initialize the solution and the BC you setup!
Your files don't open. If you need help get back to me. Thank you.

Regards
H.

Unfortunately I no longer have the files. I can remake them if you need. I can also provide you with a report that details everything I did on the case. Never did get it working though but if you look through the report you might see somewhere I went wrong. Let me know an email address I can reach you at and I will email you the report
